Little ONE, Big Love

Viviana's birthday was filled with sugar & spice & everything nice!

I never knew how fun it'd be to plan a very girly & pinky & ballerina-ish birthday party. :)

My awesome little ballerina
Who took her first steps this week too! Woo hoo!

S.U.G.A.R. wow-zahs.

And Viviana finally got to meet her little friend Matilda, since she was sick at Matilda's first birthday party.
Thank God for parents who help with big birthday parties! *kiss*
Even though Ivan was out of town, Kat still came, which was awesome!
 And the awesome Dollars!
Cheers to my precious little angel with cotton candy champagne!
She's my little girl thru & thru! She didn't get it all over her face or dress, but boy did she smash the heck outta it all over her high chair tray.
We love you Sharps!
And we love the Van Houtens too!
How awesome is it that we all met back in 1992 & here we are, 21 years later, still friends, with our babies! And believe it or not there are 4 birthday girls in this picture- Beth (Jan. 24th), Felicia (Jan. 25th), Viviana (Jan 26th) and Matilda (Jan. 28th) and my Mother in Law, Maria's birthday is also Jan. 24th! Happy birthday lovely ladies!!
And so glad the LeClercs came!!

I am so, so blessed to be surrounded by such love.  After the party, I thought to myself, this was the best party we've thrown in years. Maybe because it's just amazing to be around so many people we love SO much & love us? Maybe because it was less work than a lot of our other big parties over the last few years?Or maybe it was because with Viviana I realize this might be the last time we're moving past this milestone of a one year old's birthday and it's so sweet. Tear. I think back a year ago to my wonderful labor, but my scary emergency c-section and the anticipation of my baby girl.  I remember the 3 months after I had her, after my terrible health scare and healing of the c-section were literally the best 2-ish months of my life, just enjoying all three of my amazing kids at home and doing nothing but concentrating on loving, snuggling & spending time with those angels. I feel so incredibly blessed to have had Viviana for 1 whole year, and Judah for 5 years and Quinn for 4 years. So far with kids, it just keeps getting better & better, so I try not to be too sentimental to these days and look forward to what's ahead!

And the best gift of your baby turning one? No more of THIS. C-ya later formula. WOOT WOOT.

Wake up to get your cake up weekends

I'm not sure why I get such a kick out of hip hop culture.

"Get your cake up"- (urban dictionary)
1)is the act or process of one person or groups of persons doing something advantagous for their self
2) doing what you have to do to get by
3) trying to get what you want without having to do much else

One of the few times a Lil' Boosie lyric describes the Soler family weekends.  Our weeks are fully charged, working overtime, homework, appointments, errands, but our weekends are typically rejuvenating, sweet & perfect, filled with that matters most.

Last weekend we had smoothie & movie Sunday.  (how awesome is it that you can make a whole event out of making smoothies & watching rented DVD- will they still think it's super cool when they're like 18? lol)

Don't eat your brothers toys Vivi. I know your plans!

Happy 1st Birthday Matilda!! Isn't she the cutest! Last year at this time Felicia & I were in the agony of waiting on babies to be born and now these girls are getting so big. Tear.
Matilda's party was at one of the hidden gems on James Island at the Crump's house, seriously, look at this back yard! Like 200 degrees of marsh front.

Look ma! I'm "walking".... :) this girl is my most cautious baby, the boys were/are such risk takers, this girl is so careful. When she's standing on her own without holding onto anything, you can see the realization  of "WHAT am I doing up here all alone with nothing to hold onto?" and she falls back down.

We finally got to do "christmas" with the Q's. Look at that handsome almost 16 year old boy!!

I thought this picture was hilarious, it really looks like Gavin's punching Quinn! (which of course he wasn't)

Auntie E got in the hulk action too.
happy.teething.baby. a contradiction of sorts. STUPID never ending teething.
I love Quinn's expressions when he plays. I could just sit and watch them for hours. Until they start fighting with each other about the dumbest thing in the whole world and I want to yell "why can't we all just get along" like it's a magical chant that will make them stop fighting. Brothers. Sigh.

This girl will beat you upside the head with her fist pump, out of control baby hands (we're working on "gentle") but at least she's just a little sweetie pie who can't fight yet.
At least no one fights mama. Ahhh, my little sweets. Weekends are the best.

Well, this might be the best..... my snuggle time that I cherish every single day. I just want to eat this girl up.

Say it ain't so! My baby is ONE!!!

I can't believe my sweet, precious, little angel is turning one in just a little over a week!
Viviana Laine has been the biggest blessing to our family. She is pure joy, so calm, so happy, so content, so much so that everyday I feel like she is going to turn into a holy terror for being so good for the first year, or maybe her teenage years will be hell! Lol, I'm such a cynic.  Anyways, our lives are blessed beyond measure because of this girl!  Thank you God!

My dear friend Beth took these amazing 1st birthday photos of Viviana, you can see Beth's awesome pics of her own kids on her blog. There were so many good pics as you can see, I found it hard to consolidate it into fewer photos..... :)

And of course I couldn't resist putting Viviana's two best brothers ever on here! They are the clowns that keep her (and us) laughing & her fierce protectors from all things, especially all small toys that might go into her mouth & from the bowl of dog food!
