Bermuda, Bahama, Come on Pretty Mama

Well, it wasn't Bermuda OR the Bahamas, but it sure made you feel like you were on a vacation a million miles away from my problems (have you ever seen What About Bob?).  Actually we weren't vacationing from our problems, thankfully I don't feel like there are a lot of problems with life right now, but rather we crashed my sister's family vacation in Hilton Head!! When I found out they were going to be only two hours away from us I told her, like it or not, we were coming to see them for the day! And coming to see them for the day turned into 2 days and a night. What a great turn of events!

 Cheers to Vacay!!
My parents came too! Which is always a treat, ESPECIALLY when they help hold babies so certain Moms and Dads can float around the pool for a few minutes not worrying about littles who think they are fish.

Our special family love is now the running joke and we always have to get that special photo.

We LOVE our cousins!!!

Little Miss Grabby Hands is all up in everyones business nowadays. Nothing is safe from those cute pudgy little fingers. Not glasses, not earrings, not necklaces, or drinks, and certainly not Daddy's beard hair.

I am so thankful all 3 of the kids love the pool & beach so much. Maybe we have mermaids in our gene pool. (Have you seen that Nat. Geo. special?)
There is something so special about seeing parents become grandparents. Being a grandparent makes people even more amazing. :)

I love sweet pictures of the boys & their sis. I hope there are pictures like this until they're all old & gray!

I just want to EAT this boy he's so sweet.

This one too! Judah & Quinn are pretty fond of them too. ;)

Gotta get the staged cousins pic where half of 'em don't look at the camera....

So we had this great idea to do a treasure hunt on the beach which the kids LOVED.....

Until Judah found the ninja guys and Quinn didn't want to continue to dig to find more, he wanted the ones Judah had already found.....

Total. Meltdown. Gotta love being 3.

Now cool girl on the other hand just sits and watches, as always. Probably pondering how she can rip her beach hat off and shove the whole thing in her mouth.

Thanks so much for letting us crash your vacation guys!! There is no where in the world I'd rather be, than with my family.... ON vacation. :)

Wonder Twins Power Activate!

If there is one thing I know, it's little boys. And I knew I had to get them these arm bands, because in that little bit of stretchy fabric on their arms, they are now transformed into super heroes! This way they can feel dressed up without actually wearing one of their superhero costumes to the mall.
Vivi is upset that she doesn't have super power arm band! You just wait little spidergirl, as the boys have dubbed her altraego. You will have a super powers armband someday too.
If only the super hero arm band kept them from climbing into the clothing racks. That's SO payback from my childhood. We hid in the clothing racks the WHOLE time my Mom shopped and made up martian language that sounded like this "oy oy oy oy oy oy oy oy oy oy oy oy oy oy oy oy oy oy". Wow. How annoying were we?
Ok, so the big question of the day!  Have you ever wanted to know what it's like to be 3 again??
Jump for joy, twirl around, shout THANK YOU MAMA FOR MY DRUMMER MAN (the awesome toys I found Judah & Quinn from Goodwill- since they love playing the drums & guitars and love little men with parts to them, I knew I scored big time with these toys, Judah got Starchild)..........

Play with the toy for 1 minute 42 seconds, take the drum sticks out of Catman's hands. WAAAAAAAH, the drumstick won't come out. Break it out of his hand.

MOM!! Will you put the drum stick back in his hand?

Sorry Baby. It's broken off in his hand.

Skip off to play with the one stick drummer man.

12 minutes and 19 seconds later decide the drum set is better with the tom, snare and cymbal ripped off the bass drum, rip the third leg off the drum seat, and break the drum pedal in half. By Accident Mama.

Get very confused why drummer man has furry shoulder pads, but question nothing else about his outfit, like his mega man boots.

Ahhh, 20 minutes in the life of a 3 year old.

We got to celebrate with Kat  at her party! Happy birthday Kat!
As always, a special treat to catch up with friends!
 And family!
Weekends like this one make me feel like I'm the luckiest girl in the world! After a weekend full of love, fun, family & friends and church & dinner/swimming with my parents in a few hours, my little lamb asleep in her crib, tomorrow's dinner is already in the crock pot, a clean house with the laundry done, Guillermo is mowing the lawn and I'm washing dishes and watching the boys swimming I know EVERY thing is  right with the world right in this moment. Ahhhh.

With Liberty, Justice & Fried Chicken for ALL!

Guillermo's parents, Jose & Maria came back to America from Italy to see Guillermo's brother Jose finish his residency in NYC! We couldn't be more proud of Jose for surviving all those years of med school & residency! So on their way back to Italy, they made a detour in Charleston to meet their first granddaughter!!
What a special moment for Viviana to meet her Abuela & Abuelo (and to see her in all the pretty clothes she's bought her)!
There's a lot of Boricuas here! Can I be an honoray Boricua since I love my Puerto Rican family and tostones so much?? ;)
Now that you can see them in the same picture, doesn't Quinn have his Abuela's face (except he has my eyes)?? Such a pretty smile with cute cheeks! Thanks for the genes Maria!
And we got to go on a special date night without kids too! What a treat, Guillermo and I ran around the streets of Charleston yelling "I'm FREEEEEE".. Just kidding.
We loved to have you here Abuelo & Abuela! We'll miss you!
My little class clown has gone from crazy smile to CRAZY smile. Or he's too distracted to look at the camera. I'm already anticipating the phone calls I'll get from his future teachers about his silly antics!
A picture Uncle Sam would be proud of! We do July 4th RIGHT up in here.
Patriotic outfits, animals, table settings and decor. Check.
Lots of laughs & chillin. Check.
Going to the pool with family after eating hotdogs. Check.

Battling throngs of people to find a good spot on the beach, after carrying 100 lbs of baby/picnic/beach gear for 2 miles and have our picture taken at dusk next to the American flag as we wait for the big show to begin. Check.
Enjoy every second at the beach making the torture surrounding getting TO our spot worth it. Check.
Eating watermelon (or wallermelon as Quinn says), fried chicken, sand covered chips and singing "Happy Birthday America" with our new beach friends. Check.
And then the show begins! Look how close we were to the pier they were shooting them from!
I caught the "chupacabra" of fireworks pictures! This isn't even zoomed in, it was like the whole sky lit up with fireworks in our face! Ah-mazing.  (and how pathetic is it, since I'm in charge of finances for a City, the whole time, I kept thinking, Man, Hanahan should do fireworks when we finish our big Amphitheater and I was counting the number of fireworks trying to guesstimate how much it'd cost to do a show. STUPID! Lol)
Viviana has an announcement to make!
Guess what I do now???
Suck my thumb!! It's so stinkin cute! She's my first baby that doesn't want a pacifier and first baby who sucks her thumb and fingers! It's all fun & good now, but unlike with a pacifier, Santa can't come and take her thumb away on Christmas Eve to replace it with toys in a few years (the best way to get a kid to willingly give up his pacifier cold turkey, btw).

Save the Drama for Ya Mama!

The other day we were sitting around the dinner table and Judah was very exasperated and said "Mama, I've gotta tell you something. Quinn always says potty talk and always says bad words and he's always mean to me"
(of course this is the VERY dramatic and maybe true 10% of the time, if anything Judah can be more mean to Quinn, but anyways) and Quinn looks very much like- oh no! the crap is hitting the fan- with this terrible accusation and surely punishment will follow so Quinn quickly says "he's just kidding Mama, he's just kidding" patting Judah's arm, which Judah sighs loudly, throws his hands up in the air and says "NOW HE'S TELLING STORIES TOO!"

Ahhh, brothers. Just melts your heart doesn't it?

We've had an AWESOME week and weekend with friends & family, there will be a fun upcoming post of our adventures with Abuelo & Abuela, but I wanted to post these pictures of the boys taking a ride in our friend's plane.  We had the most AMAZING lightning storm Sunday night but it kept us from taking flight, we did however get to ride around the airport, which to two little boys was ALMOST as amazing!
Thank you so much Dr. Riffel!
