Frog Face Heffa.

"Jamie recently let the cat out of the bag that he is working on bringing back everyone's favorite frog face heffa"

The Frog Face Heffa. Brilliant. Wish I came up with that. Seriously, do you know how AWESOME it'd be if Jamie Foxx revived Wanda from In Living Color!!!

A Roo Roo Rooooo! I got Chu. I got Chu. You Mine.

Ok, for the quote of the week at our house:

Judah (to Quinn who just sneezed):  "you sneeze like a taco truck"

I Heart Cheat Night

Some of you may know, I've started my heinous diet. I should rephrase. All diets are heinous, not just this one.  My inner fat kid is strong and well and prefers to eat twinkies and fried pork chops (or poke chops if you're from the south) and drink chocolate milk and milk shakes whenever possible. I finally thought it was time to put my inner fat kid in time out and get back on track a few weeks ago. So far so good... but the best part is waiting for my cheat night. All the possiblities run thru your mind, like WHAT do you want to do on your cheat night. And we chose Pizza & a beer.
It's like a combination made up by a junk food wizard of magical happiness.
Judah loves cheat nights too!
And also a major plus of the night, was this little kid in the striped shirt was busting some awesome dance moves the whole meal, so after dinner we had to join him on the "dance floor"! My little dancer- Judah was giving him a run for his money!

And the following day we had to pay the piper for our cheat night with lots of exercise. I am happy that I was able to run the entire pier and park without going into a mozzerlla and pizza dough coma.
Get us out of this stroller mama so we can run too!
I KNOW Judah was thinking "I wonder if I can climb over the railing and see if there are really sharks and whales in that water!"
Run Forest Run!

Is it possible? Can a 30 year old Daddy & a 32 year old Mama tire out a rambunctious 2 and 3 year old?! By golly yes! The universe has tilted on it's axis folks!

And for the days when we don't have enough energy to wear the kids out......
You send them out on their scooters!

The Goodwill fairy was smiling down on us this weekend when I found not one, but TWO identical spiderman scooter in perfect shape, for toddlers, for $3 a peice! Now that is Good Will Hunting!

And if the scooters didn't get all the energy out, that park surely will!
Mimi - it's your turn when Quinn incessantly demands "get me! get me! get me!" and runs in the opposite direction!

If only I could bottle that energy and sell it on an infomercial. Man, talk about get rich quick! "I might cop a million Jimmy Choos just for fun" just like Nicki Minaj! Actually, if I could afford to own a million of anything, it sure as heck wouldn't be designer shoes!

I Love Lamp.

I couldn't resist. I love that line, have you seen Anchorman: Legend of Ron Burgundy?

I also LOVE Valentine's Day. Who cares that it becomes commercial? Any excuse to tell your besties how much you love them and dress up your house, to make special crafts, to eat special food... bring it on! I probably love holidays so much because my Mom always made holidays so special for us as kids. The table was always decorated so special, we always got the most fun & yummy treats around each holiday.. we took advantage of the love holiday for 2 weeks of crafts for the boys....

This is totally Evelina's handiwork, she's a wizard with scissors and is so creative and Judah helps her put it all together!

We celebrated a day early since V-day is work day for us. And just so you know, those are not sweet and sentimental ballons, those are bonking your brother and dog devices until they break (which was about an hour later on the way to church)....

So my parent's church had an awesome snow-fest.
This is how you dress for a snow fest in the south: t-shirts, jeans and a winter hat! :)
Awww, Davey Crockett and his brother

My Dad was so awesome and played with the kids and was the target for many snow balls....
Even to the face!
"I believe I can fly"- Judah is SO R Kelly (oh, wait, that's not good)
I love it, now that the boys are older, I give them chores. The other day they got $0.50 each for wiping down base boards and today they got another $0.50 for pulling weeds. hahahahaha.  They both Love to help and they are even more excited to put money in their piggy banks!

We got an unexpected fun afternoon at the park with our dear friends!
These are the milestones only a mother would appreciate: her two big boys - Judah pushing his brother and Quinn sitting in the big boy swing!

And it's all fun and games until Quinn split his lip open on the playground!
Auntie Beth with her future fireman!
Now that's an amazing picture, everyone is looking in the direction of the camera, we'll work on OPENING up our eyes and smiling at the same time next!

Teach me how to Dougie.

There are few things in life a father can teach his sons that is more moving than teaching them how to dougie.

And on a non-teach me how to dougie note-we are so happy for our peeps Ryan & Erin who are getting married in just a few short weeks!!
Machine Gun Kelly represent! (their old band, Ryan was the guitarist. And the boy can shred.)
It's the wedding shower mugshot! ;)

A post with no rap lyrics or fart jokes?!

This veers off the normal blog post, but these things have been so strong in my life right now, I feel like I should share.  God has really been impressing these things on my heart lately, so strong, it's almost like I hear/see something new, every single day that has one of these themes:

1. Your spiritual walk with Christ is a commitment that requires persistent and intentional exercise. God has been showing me this - as a Christian, to be a devoted Christ follower, if you are going to grow and mature in your spiritual walk, it takes persistent, committed and purposeful actions. You won't mature in your spiritual walk by osmosis of spending time in a church building,  it won't rub off by spiritually mature people around you, it most likely will not fall into your lap- but rather to be walking in the path that God has designed for your life, on the path where every single day you grow in faith and understand God more and more, you have to work towards that goal. I've often wondered why in the past few years, although I have turned from my old rebellious living, many days I do not feel closer to God, and quite often feeling like I am missing out things God wants for me to do- I feel now that my commitment to the Lord has only been haphazard, unintentional.  I believe that while God has been so gracious towards us, and my love for God is so immense, and I pray to God every single day and tell Him how much I love him and thankful I am for everything in my life, because of my lack of commitment to intentionally grow towards Him, I stay stagnant. I always equate the spiritual journey with a journey to health.  What I feel like I have been doing is dwelling on how amazing good health and physical exercise is, but then when it comes to the actual work of physical exercise or intentional living out of good health, I fail. The same way, my love & adoration for God is good, but it's time to start moving beyond that, to actively and intentionally pursue the next level with God.

2. God is our Shepherd. I've heard this a million times. But today, it hit me, God is still my Shepherd.  When I thought about God the Shepherd, I often think about the lost sheep, that God is calling the unsaved to Him, but today it hit me- that God is our Shepherd and for His sheep (His saved children)- he continues to herd us, to keep us safe, to keep us going in the right direction, to provide for us, and on and on. Because of God, despite not making a committed and intentional effort to move forward in my spiritual walk, God has been the faithful Shepherd and protected me, guided me, provided for me as a caring Shepherd would even where I was for so long, stagnant. I can only imagine God is thinking, if you think this pasture is good- you just wait, if you'd only make the journey to the next place I have for you, and then journey to the place after that!

I often battle my circumstances, the thought of "but I have a fifty hour a week job"... "I'm devoting every second of my spare time after work to spending quality time with my family".... "if I volunteer at church, I'll end up teaching and if I end up teaching it'll take time away from my family"...."if I start a Bible study, it'll take time away from my family".... "if I help other people, it'll take time away from my family".... but after just sucking it up- volunteering again at church and starting a Bible study in my home, I see that these are just a few small steps towards making that intentinonal commitment to grow in Christ- and it's only been several weeks, but I can tell you that God has blessed my time with my family even more.  So far it's blessed our family rather than hurt our family. It follows the same unexplainable formula as tithing, even when you "can't afford" to tithe, if you trust God and do it, He provides for you- often times miraculously.  If you "can't afford" to make time to "exercise" and grow in your spiritual walk, yet you do, He gives that time back and He is glorified, and you are blessed and you've blessed others and your life is that much better!

If tear drops and giggles were nickels, we'd have a lot of nickels.

Quinn is hilarious. And Judah is so sweet & endearing. Quinn can go thru every emotion in about a minute. He'll be giggling, then he'll get incredibly frustrated, then he'll start sobbing, and two seconds later he'll be roaring with laughter!

Here, you can imagine it all pan out.

Me: "Hey guys, put some pants on and come check out your clllllleeeeeeaaaan new play area (and reorganized back porch that mama and dad worked on your entire nap and then some)!"
Judah: "Wow! So Cool!"  Quinn: "Tay-Tuu Mama, por por por" (Thank you mama, porch, porch, porch)
And here's where it gets tricky. Judah brought his dinosaurs to play with, while Quinn only has his lion and tiger, but Quinn wants dinosaurs.
 Quinn: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Judah: "Quinn! I have something that will make you happy" (this was pretty smart of Judah, I think pinwheels make everyone happy)
Oh! Problem solved. Judah- I love that kid.
And I love Daddy even more who brought out a big ol' handful of animals and dinosaurs. Happiness again.

Speaking of happy, Guillermo finished my birthday present! (and yes, my birthday was in september-but we've been busy).

About a year ago, I told my guy friends I needed to find someone that had antlers they were willing to give me or sell me cheap after I was totally inspired to put antlers in my room!  By that afternoon I had not one, but 2 pairs of antlers in my office!  So I've had these two pairs of antlers on my back porch since then. Now Gmo made them all purrrty up and hung them on my wall. Now I know for MOST people - antlers above their bed aren't their thing (unless you have seven first names, get your fashion sense from http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/ and goats live in your living room) but I personally love them and think they are the perfect masculine element for my otherwise feminine decor in my room!
